^ И зменения, происходящие в нашей стране, поставили многих специалистов перед необходимостью владения иностранным языком. Наиболее употребляемым иностранным языком является английский, который «правит» миром электроники и бизнеса, современной индустрией развлечений и спорта.В соответствии с государственными требованиями, предъявляемыми к изучению дисциплины «Иностранный язык», по завершению курса обучения студенты должны: уметь:
Обучение иностранному языку в учреждениях среднего профессионального образования представляет собой самостоятельный курс, характеризующийся целостностью, спецификой и автономностью. Место этого курса в системе профессионального образования определяет его назначение – завершить формирование основ владения иностранным языком, начатое в средней общеобразовательной школе, и заложить основы практического владения иностранным языком в своей профессии. Настоящие методические указания и контрольные задания подготовлены с целью оказания необходимой помощи в изучении дисциплины «Иностранный язык» для студентов, обучающихся по заочной форме. В них заложены:
За весь курс обучения по дисциплине «Иностранный язык» необходимо выполнить две контрольные работы, сдать зачет, а по завершении изучения - экзамен. В учебно-методической карте предоставлен перечень изучаемых тем, количество аудиторных занятий, виды самостоятельной внеаудиторной работы. В процессе самостоятельной работы студент изучает дисциплину, пользуясь рекомендованной литературой. Индексы, указанные в методической карте, в графе «Учебная литература», соответствуют номеру в списке литературы, приведенного в конце методических указаний У ^
^ Лексическая тема 2.1. «My family» Изучая данную тему, студенты должны научиться рассказывать о себе, своей семье, друзьях, увлечениях; научиться запрашивать информацию по этим темам. Существует два пути составления монологического высказывания: первый, когда за основу берется текст по определенной теме и на его примере составляется свой рассказ, а второй путь предполагает развертывание высказывания от предложения к законченному монологу через конкретизацию, уточнение. Путь второй: Дано предложение: «My family is large.». Уточните, сколько человек в вашей семье, их имена, возраст, занятия, увлечения и т.д. Для того чтобы овладеть изучаемым языком, одного знания слов недостаточно. Надо научиться понимать и строить предложения в соответствии с правилами английской грамматики. Необходимо научиться строить повествовательные, отрицательные и вопросительные предложения во всех временах. Начните изучение с времен группы Indefinite (Simple). Conversational Topic ^ Our family is not very large. I have a father, a mother and a sister. We all live together in a new flat in one of the industrial districts of Minsk. My father Igor Ivanovich is 45 years old. He is a tall and well-built man with short black hair and grey eyes. He works at a big automobile plant as an engineer. He likes his work and spends most of his time there. By character my father is a quiet man, while my mother is energetic and talkative. Her name is Olga Pctrovna. She is a teacher of music and plays the piano well. My mother always has a lot of work to do about the house and at school. She is a busy woman and we all help her. My sister's name is Alla. Like her mother Alla has blue eyes and lovely fair hair. She is a very good-looking girl. Alla is three years younger than me. She is a pupil of the 9th form. She does well at school and gets only good and excellent marks. Literature is her favorite subject and she wants to become a teacher, the same as me. My name is Tanya. Last year I left school and tried to enter the University. But I failed in my exams. For a year I worked at school as a secretary and attended preparatory courses. Now I'm again an applicant for entry to the philological faculty of the University. I hope to be lucky this time. Our family is very united. We like to spend time together. In the evenings we watch TV, read books and newspapers, listen to music or just talk about the events of the day. Our parents don't always agree to what we say but they listen to our opinion. All of us like to spend our week-ends out of town. We often go to the village where our grandparents live. They are old-age pensioners now but prefer to live in the country. My grand-grandmother is still alive. She lives in my grandmother's family and is always glad to see us. She is in poor health and asks us to come and see her more often. Лексическая тема 2.2. “My working day” Изучая лексическую тему “My working day”, студенты должны научиться рассказывать о распорядке своего рабочего дня, рабочего дня жены (мужа), детей, друга, а также о распорядке выходного дня, об увлечениях, как и где они любят проводить праздники, отпуск. TEXT ^ I Philip is a student. He studies English. He studies hard. He wakes up at 7 and goes to the bathroom. In the bathroom he washes, shaves and cleans his teeth. Then he dresses. He puts on his suit, shirt and shoes. At 8 he goes to the kitchen. He has breakfast. For breakfast he has tea, bread and butter and bacon and eggs. During breakfast he listens to the radio. After breakfast he puts his books into the bag, puts on his coat and hat and goes to his college. He goes there by bus. He gets to his college at 9. II When he comes to the college, he takes off his coat and hat and goes to the classroom. He greets his friends and sits down at his desk. He takes his books out of the bag and puts them on the desk. When the teacher comes into the classroom, the students stand up. The lesson begins. At the lesson the students write, read and speak English. They ask questions and answer the teacher's questions. During the break they play table-tennis or talk about new films, books and sport. After classes Philip goes home. At home he rests and then he has dinner with his mother. For dinner they have soup, meat or fish. After dinner he does his homework. Then he watches TV or reads a book. At 10 he says goodnight to his mother and goes to bed. Вопросы для самоконтроля
Лексическая тема 2.3. «Seasons and weather» ^ Winter, spring, summer and autumn are the seasons of the year. December, January and February are winter months. The weather is cold. Usually it snows. The days are short and the nights are long. You can see snow every-where. The rivers and lakes freeze and we can go skating and skiing. March, April, May are spring months. It is a very nice season. The weather is fine, it is warm. There are many green trees in the streets, in the parks and in the yards. Sometimes it rains, but as usual the sun shines brightly. The birds return from the hot countries and make their nests. June, July and August are summer months. It is hot or warm. The days are long and the nights are short. There are many green trees and nice flowers in the parks and in the squares in summer. The pupils don't go to school, they have got their summer holidays. June is the first month of summer. We have got the longest day and the shortest night of the year on the 21st-22nd of June. You can see the strawberries in the forest and in the gardens in June. July is the middle month of summer. It is hot and the sun shines brightly, the sky is blue and you can't see any clouds in the sky. August is the last summer month, it is the end of summer. Sometimes it is cool in August, but there are many mushrooms, berries and fruit in August. September, October, November are autumn months. It is cool. The weather is changeable. It often rains. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The birds prepare to fly to the South. One can see yellow, red, brown leaves everywhere. It is time for gathering in the harvest. ^ Hello! I'm Patric Bell. I'm 21. I'm a computer programmer. I work with the computers and make different programs. I like my job. I'm busy the whole day. In the evenings I have a rest at home and listen to music. I'm fond of rock music. My hobby is collecting CDs. "The Scorpions" is my favourite group. I have got a family. I have a father, a mother and a small brother. I also have a dog. My dog's name is Ralph. My father's name is John Bell, he is 42. He is a computer operator. He works at a large computer centre. My mother's name is Linda Bell, she is 40. She is a housewife. My brother Ben is only 5. He has some friends. We live in a comfortable house in a small American town. Our town is quiet and green. ^ Hello! I'm Patric Bell. I'm a computer programmer, you know. I'd like to describe our computer centre. It is the biggest and the most wonderful centre in Texas state. "Sandos Corporation" locates in a seven-storeyed building in the downtown. Computer classes are on the second and the third floors. They have the latest computer equipment. These classes are the biggest and the lightest in the whole building. There are a lot of desks with different electronic devices. My working place is to the left of the window. On my desk there is a computer and there is a box of computer disks under it. There is a picture on the wall behind the computer. On the first floor there is a show-room, a reception and a few rooms for computer games. There are technical labs where experts work. There are also language classes on the sixth floor. On the whole "Sandos Corporation" computer centre is one of the most modern and beautiful buildings in our town. Computers are getting more and more important in our life. ^ I study at the college of communication, information technology and management. Our college gives secondary-professional education. There is a day time, an evening or correspondence departments at our college. The complete course of study lasts three years. About 8 hundreds of students study at the college. We study the humanities and the technical subjects and also have seminars and tutorials in these subjects. The college is located on Chervishevskiy Trakt Street,13. It occupies a three-storeyed building. On the ground floor there is a gym, a canteen, a cloak room and some classrooms. On the first floor there is a big and beautiful assembly hall and different well- equipped classrooms. On the second floor there are some computer rooms with the modern equipment. Students can live in the students hostels, which are located near the main building. The college gives students plenty of opportunities to develop themselves: besides getting professional knowledge we can participate in extracurricular activities, to attend different clubs. Контрольная работа № 1 Общие указания В процессе изучения дисциплины «Иностранный язык», каждый студент-заочник должен представить две контрольные работы, свидетельствующие о том, как он разобрался в изучаемом материале. При выполнении контрольных работ студенту следует использовать основную литературу, перечень которой приведен в конце данных рекомендаций. Желательно также использовать учебные пособия, помещенные в списке дополнительной литературы. Работа должна быть выполнена грамотно и аккуратно, четким, разборчивым почерком; страницы пронумерованы. Выполняя контрольную работу, следует оставлять поля для замечаний рецензента, в конце текста указать использованную литературу, поставить дату выполнения и личную подпись. Главным критерием оценки контрольной работы является правильность выполнения заданий. В случае, если письменная контрольная работа не будет зачтена, студент обязан написать новую контрольную работу с учетом сделанных рецензентом замечаний и представить ее вновь вместе с первой. Первая контрольная работа состоит из десяти заданий. Перед ее выполнением необходимо изучить следующие темы: спряжение глагола to be, образование множественного числа существительных, употребление артиклей, личные, притяжательные и указательные местоимения, предлоги, притяжательный падеж существительных. Вторая контрольная работа состоит из восьми заданий. Ее цель – проверка усвоения студентами следующих тем: употребление артиклей, употребление модальных глаголов, употребление наречий much, many, few, little, употребление степеней сравнения прилагательных, употребление страдательного залога, употребление времен группы Indefinite и Continuous.
